Overview

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR Needed for Supervisory Role at Innovative Hospice Company

Full Time - King of Prussia, Pa

Integrated care leader Grane Hospice Care, Inc. is expanding its core interdisciplinary teams, and seeks an active, experienced Volunteer Coordinator to oversee all volunteer activity programs for the organization. This is a critical role at Grane, liaising with both in-office personnel and community groups to deliver quality volunteer care to patients seeking comfort, socialization and support.

Grane Hospice provides a higher level of hospice care through a low patient to nurse ratio, allowing for more care time whenever needed. Our mission is to provide premium comfort care to patients, families, and caregivers through an interdisciplinary team approach that understands, respects, and meets individual needs. As an organization, we strive to provide our patients, families, and caregivers with the highest level of satisfaction through our strong clinical outcomes and innovative approach by maintaining our core values of devotion, honesty, dignity, and respect.

Responsibilities

This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, a strong desire to help others and an ability to motivate diverse groups of volunteer workers. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Coordinating and managing all volunteers, volunteer program activities and general program sustainability
  • Developing and executing a volunteer orientation program for new participants
  • Recruiting new volunteers through community outreach and activities
  • Establishing a need for volunteer services within specific areas of the organization as well as for specific patients, caregivers and families, then supervising all volunteers in associated tasks
  • Maintaining all volunteer personnel files
  • Reevaluating and adjusting program expectations, guidelines and needs, as appropriate
  • Participating in relevant budget preparation, strategic planning and program development

Qualifications

Candidates should have at least two years of experience in a health care setting with, ideally, some exposure to hospice services. Volunteer experience as well as a relevant college degree are preferred, but not required. Applicants should demonstrate a proven ability to lead, supervise and coordinate teams, and be able to act as both a support system and hands-on colleague to this valuable team. Travel is required, so a valid driver’s license and reliable mode of transportation is mandatory.
